The Rhode Island Comprehensive Assessment System (RICAS) is used for grades 3-8. This test is based on the Massachusetts state assessment and is closely aligned to the CCSS. 

The PSAT™10 and SAT® School Day for high school students will be administered during the school day and will serve as the state assessment for that level.

The state uses the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Alternate Assessment for ELA and math at grades 3-8 & 11 and science at grades 5, 8, & 11.

There is also a Next Generation science assessment for grades 5, 8, & 11. 

Finally, Rhode Island requires that the English language proficiency (ELP) of all English language learners (ELLs) be measured annually with the ACCESS for ELLs.
